Why
High Performance?
-
SPEED.
High performance drills accomplish the job in a
shorter cycle time. They can run at higher speeds and feeds
than conventional drills, which means more pieces per hour and
fewer down times for tool changes. The toughness and strength
of these drills make peck drilling unnecessary in many
applications. The self-centering point of many of these styles
means less need for spot drill operations.
-
ACCURACY.
More accurate holes are provided by high
performance drills, often eliminating the need for reaming
operations. Traditional tap/drill sizes allow for inaccurate
holes. Metal Removal provides tighter fits and better
engagements.
-
CONSISTENCY.
Not only are these drills consistent performers
hole-to-hole, but you can count on the people at Metal Removal
to produce the most consistent product, drill-to-drill, in the
industry. All Metal Removal high performance drills are built
to high standards, inspected for conformation, and treated
with care from the factory to you. The result? A better hole
every time.
Why
Metal Removal?
-
QUALITY.
Quality begins with raw materials. As one of
the very few solid carbide cutting tool companies that
manufactures its own raw material, Metal Removal has complete
control over product quality. From initial powder processing,
through precision CNC grinding methods, to final inspection of
the finished product, Metal Removal uses state-of-the-art
equipment and methods to ensure you get the highest quality
product available.
-
PERFORMANCE.
Metal Removal is on the cutting edge of carbide
technology. With world-renowned R&D capabilities, we are
developing new grades and geometries for our products
targeting them toward specific applications. Our in-house
laboratory is used to continually monitor our products'
performance in various applications and against our
competition. Metal Removal performs!
-
SERVICE.
The industry's most extensive field sales staff
provides assistance on your tooling requirements. Our
technical service department is available to consult with you
on specific tooling applications. We are proud of the breadth
of our solid carbide program, which gives you a variety of
tool designs to best suit your applications. Our goal is to
provide you with the best tool for the job at hand.

According
to Steve Abrams, product manager for end mills and carbide rounds,
“This product offers high performance milling in a wide variety
of steels, stainless steels, cast iron and high temp alloys. Its
unique, patented geometry and superior substrate material provides
optimum performance in various axial and radial depths of cut. The
design of Maestro end mills reduces resonance vibration and
results in smooth, silent machining operations without chatter. No
competitor matches its performance in as wide a range of materials
or types of cuts. Maestro end mills also provide repeatable and
consistent performance after regrinding.”
Due
to Maestro’s unique and innovative geometry and the titanium
aluminum nitride coating, standard on all Maestro tools, these end
mills can machine at up to 40% higher speed and feed rates than
conventional high performance carbide end mills in extreme
conditions. The result is faster throughput and more parts per
hour of machine time.
There’s
no need for a separate rougher and finisher when using a Maestro
end mill. The combination of improved design, TiAlN coating and
high-quality substrate can remove as much material as a
conventional rougher and provide outstanding surface finishes with
a finishing pass. This ability reduces the need for costly setups
and additional tool inventory, saving both time and money.
Because
the design delivers a chatter-free machining environment, Maestro
tools can deliver up to 50% higher metal removal rates with over
100% longer tool life. The TiAlN coating not only enables the
highest feeds and speeds, but also protects the tool surface. In
performance testing, the Maestro end mill showed markedly less
wear on the tool, even up to 2000 inches milled.
The
Maestro line is available in regular lengths or in a long shank
style for hard-to-reach machining applications. Both styles are
available standard with a 45° end chamfer or with square corners.
A wide variety of inch sizes are available from stock with metric
sizes available as specials.
