Advantages of Thread Milling

PM Plus thread mills are ideal for:

• Forming internal and external threads;
• Forming right and left hand threads;
• Forming inch threads #8 to 1” UNC and UNF;
• Forming external threads 32 UN to 8 UN;
• Forming pipe threads 1/16” to 6” NPT, NPTF and NPSM;
• Forming metric threads M4.5 to M24 internal and M4.5 to M250 external;
• Machine tools with helical interpolation capabilities;
• Thread specifications requires a special tap;
• Material that has proven difficult to tap and is less than 30 Rc.;
• Applications that require taper pipe threads;
• Applications where a special thread mill is required;
• Operations in which the CNC machine has limited SFM capability;
• Customers threading small lot sizes.
